AUBURN HILLS, MI--Aug. 22, 2011: Faurecia North America today announced the launch of its 2011 food-drive challenge as part of its corporate-giving initiative, FUELS -- Faurecia Unites with Employees for Local Service. During September, Faurecia employees will collect non-perishable food items in an effort to make an impact in the neighborhoods and communities where the company has a presence.

Launched in 2010, FUELS combines the charitable efforts of more than 10,000 Faurecia employees from the company's 39 locations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. In 2010, Faurecia employees donated more than 148,000 pounds of non-perishable food for local food banks across North America during the month of September. Faurecia's total contributions provided more than 500,000 meals* to families in need.

"The Faurecia FUELS program has been very beneficial to our organization and the community," said W. DeWayne Wells, president, Gleaners Food Bank. "The volunteers at our events throughout the year, in addition to the food they donate in September, have a huge impact in helping those who are going through a tough time in their lives."

In addition to food donations, Faurecia employees will participate in volunteer days with their partner food banks.

"It was amazing to witness our employees engage in this project last year and step up to the challenge," said Mike Heneka, president of Faurecia North America. "It was even more rewarding to see how many went above and beyond the challenge by volunteering at our partner food banks to make a difference in their communities. I am confident that we will exceed our goals again this year and see record numbers of employees participate in the FUELS program."

To foster team spirit and encourage giving, Faurecia is challenging its employees to compete in collecting the most pounds of food per person per site. For each site that meets its collection goal, the company is pledging to contribute $500 to their local food bank partner. Faurecia is further pledging $5,000 for one site in the U.S./Canada and one site in Mexico that collects the most pounds of food per person.
