LONDON--August 18, 2011: With 2.8 million users globally and no 1 in navigation in 9 countries, Navfree today launches in Spain. Available from iTunes for iPhone and iPad, Navfree is completely free to download and any user can help to make it the most accurate GPS navigation system for Spain by updating the mapping where they live or work.

“Across the world more than 2 million active users are taking advantage of free GPS navigation and making maps more accurate. Navfree is one of the largest crowd sourcing projects in the world and has grown by more than one million users in the last four months”

Navfree uses OpenStreetMap data, gathered by millions of people, to guide users around the cities and coasts of Spain, providing voiced directions and access to thousands of points of interest. Because users of Navfree can update the mapping in the app quickly and easily, the app gets more accurate every month, as updates are verified and added to the maps by the Navfree team.

Peter Atalla, CEO of Navmii said: "Navfree is exactly the same as a GPS navigation system for a car, apart from three things: it's an app available on iPhone or iPad -- so you can take it anywhere your phone goes; users can update local mapping to make it more accurate so everyone using it benefits; and its completely free to download, use and update."

"Across the world more than 2 million active users are taking advantage of free GPS navigation and making maps more accurate. Navfree is one of the largest crowd sourcing projects in the world and has grown by more than one million users in the last four months," continued Atalla.
