FYI: Porsche Buyer's Guide

ATLANTA--Aug. 17, 2011: Porsche today debuted the latest additions to the Porsche Design Driver's Selection (PDDS) lineup of lifestyle apparel and accessories. Additions to the product line include a collection celebrating the renowned motorsport heritage of the Porsche 917 and a new line of items made from genuine materials used in the construction of Porsche sports cars.

One such example is the new 'PTS' luggage line, which is fashioned from the same cloth used in Porsche 911 and Boxster convertible tops.  Accents on the luggage are made from seatbelt webbing and door pull webbing from the 911 GT3, Boxster Spyder and Cayman R models. The bags are available in several convenient sizes designed for shopping, weekend trips and for carrying toiletries while traveling.

Other new items include a mouse pad made from the same leather used in Porsche vehicle interiors and an organizer portfolio made from the same leather.

The mouse pad is a perfect complement to the new 917 Salzburg computer mouse, which has been designed in the Porsche studio at Weissach.

Other highlights of the list of new items available include a ceramic bank in the design of the Porsche 917/20 -- "pink pig". The "piggy bank" is elaborately decorated and includes a lockable opening for removing coins.

Due to the increasing popularity of children's accessories in the PDDS catalog, a new rolling suitcase specifically made for children features red piping with a blue exterior and Porsche 911 Turbo print. It is equipped with wheels that light up when pulled and includes a reflective Porsche logo on the right, nameplate, printed checkered flag on the back and a red inside lining. In keeping with the spirit of Porsche Intelligent Performance, the lights are powered by energy from the movement of the luggage and require no batteries.

A new children's snack box has also been added to the lineup and includes a separate compartment for fruit and uncooked food.

Many of the new items will be on display at the Porsche display on Peter Hay Hill at Pebble Beach during Monterey Classic Car Week in Monterey, California from Thursday, August 18 through Sunday, August 21.
