Parking Professionals Gather for NPA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada

WASHINGTON--Aug. 12, 2011: The parking industry is changing, and the National Parking Association (NPA) is taking the lead at its 2011 Convention & Expo with four days of trends, thought leadership, and performance best practices.

Innovation: Linking Networks & Knowledge, set for Oct. 3-6 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, features a sold out Expo Hall with more than 100 exhibitors and more than 30 general sessions, business sessions, roundtable discussions and issue meetings featuring top industry leaders.

"When it comes to industry professionalism and today's economy, it's about combining parking industry best practices and a focus on bottom line performance," says NPA President Christine Banning, CAE. "Our goal is to bring best in class business practices and parking expertise to our members and to the parking industry."

NPA is pleased to announce its general session speakers for its annual convention. The opening keynote is Paul Sullivan, New York Times columnist and bestselling author of "Clutch," on how to deliver results and be a top performer. The opening luncheon keynote is Dylan Taylor, CEO, USA, Colliers International, bringing a national perspective on the 2012 economy to include an industry forecast and market highlights.

An invitation-only panel is assembling to bring some of the top parking industry CEOs together to share insights on effective parking operations management and public/private services partnering. To date, panelists include Allan Copping, CEO, Impark; Alan Lazowski, Chairman and CEO, Laz Parking; and Andrew Blair, president and CEO, Colonial Parking Inc.

"NPA is setting a new course with an Association focused on the future, strategic opportunity, best practices and performance results," said Banning.

NPA's targeted education program features tracks in Peak Performance, Sustainability and Technology, and a bonus track on NPA's Certified Parking Professional (CPP) program. The CPP program is the oldest and most respected certification program in the parking industry, with more than 500 CPPs worldwide. The 2011 Expo is sold out and a waiting list is now available.
