Illinoia Tool Works Board Approves 6 Percent Dividend Increase; Dividend Boosted to $1.44 Per Share on an Annual Basis

GLENVIEW, IL--Aug. 5, 2011: The board of directors of Illinois Tool Works Inc. today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 36 cents per share or $1.44 per share on an annual basis.  The quarterly increase of 2 cents per share--8 cents per share annually--represents a 6 percent increase over the current dividend rate.

The newly-increased dividend will be paid on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 to stockholders of record on Friday, September 30, 2011.
