Noblesville, August, 2, 2011: MAZDASPEED driver Conor Daly will head back state side this week after another solid performance at the recent GP3 Series round, held this past weekend during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Daly flew directly from Budapest, Hungary on Sunday night to Belgium where he took part in a track day, driving a Caterham Seven at the famed Spa Franchorchamps Circuit as part of his prerace preparations for the upcoming GP3 Belgium Grand Prix taking place on August 26th -28th. Following the track day, Daly then headed back to North America to return to Indianapolis, Indiana where he is making final preparations to rejoin Indy Lights action with Sam Schmidt Motorsports. The team will compete in the upcoming Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres taking place this weekend.

"I have been following the Indy Lights series very closely since I headed to Europe for GP3 back in April,” comments Daly. “I am very eager to get back with my engineer, Chris Finch and get caught up on everything and very much looking forward to the challenge.”

Daly is excited about the upcoming weekend, as he is familiar with the circuit having competed there for the past two years in the Star Mazda series. Daly’s last outing in an Indy Lights car was in Long Beach, California where he took not only the win on the famed street course, but also the championship points lead.

“The Long Beach win was sweet but Trois-Rivieres is a historic racing city that I very much look forward to returning to again. My Dad raced there in Formula Atlantic in 1979 and I have great memories of tough races there in the past two years. Hopefully my experience will help me during the weekend” said Conor.
