The only real surprise about the information presented in the Associated Press story, written by Dina Cappiello, is that there are still people - on all sides of the political spectrum - who don't take seriously the graft and bribery that goes on between all of our top politicians and the oil/gasoline companies.

   • Read the AP story here.

This is why no politician(s) enacts meaningful legislation that could make America energy independent. It's also why gasoline prices are preposterously high, and it's why we keep getting embroiled in expensive wars. It doesn't matter if the politician is an anti-business socialist, or a staunch free-market conservative; when it come to national energy policy they all rush to take money from the oil and gasoline companies and sell us down the river. As long as they can retain their princely lifestyles and the sexual stimulation that comes with the power of public office, they don't care how many of us they screw over – literally and figuratively. Isn’t it incredible how often we are learn about the sex habits of our elected perverts?

To me, as a pro-war capitalist of the first order, the most annoying thing about all of this is that all the “right-wing” talk show hosts who profess to also love America and a free market economy, must be nothing more than oil company stooges. I’ve written about this in the past (SEE: Thank Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity and Prager for Rising Gasoline Prices ) and I’ve challenged them to learn the truth about alternative fuels, but I guess they'd rather stay addicted to the dollars they get from the oil lobbyists while the public is forced to stay addicted to using a fuel that pays for global terrorism.
