The Suburban Collection, Auto Service Dealer, Launches the Great Charity Giveaway, Giving Out $25,000 to Local Charities

TROY, MI--July 14, 2011 -- The Suburban Collection has launched the Great Charity Giveaway, an initiative to give away $25,000 in donations to local charities, and let customers and friends choose which charities get the money.

The Suburban Collection will be awarding $25,000 in donations to Metro Detroit charities.  Local charities will submit applications to be part of the initiative then customers and friends of the Suburban Collection will be given the chance to vote for their favorite charity via Facebook.

"Charitable giving has been a part of the Suburban Collection culture for more than 60 years," said David Fischer, chairman and C.E.O., The Suburban Collection.  "Each year we support more than 80 charities in greater Detroit.  The Great Charity gives our customers and friends in the community an opportunity to be part of the process, a chance to choose the charities to receive the next donations."

Local charities should submit an application on at Suburban Collection on Facebook .  The deadline for applications is August 2, 2011.  On August 10th the first round of voting begins.  Friends can vote for their favorite charities by going to The Suburban Collection Facebook page.  Charities with the most "likes" will be awarded donations.  The charity with the most "likes" will receive $10,000; second place will receive $5,000.  Third place receives $3,000 then the next seven runner-up charities receive $1,000 each.  

Winners will be announced September 1.
