Special Motorsports Event - Tony Stewart Racing Launches 2011 Sign & Ride Program For Knoxville Nationals
INDIANAPOLIS, July 13, 2011: Racing to victory at the Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals has been a highlight in the careers of World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series champion drivers Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz, as well as their team owner Tony Stewart. Now, that feeling of excitement may be shared by a select number of fans after this year’s Nationals.
Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) announced Wednesday that cars driven by Kinser and Schatz will carry the names of hundreds of lucky fans as they chase history at the 51st annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals on Aug. 10-13. The TSR 2011 Sign & Ride program at the Knoxville Nationals will allow a number of fans to have their names included on the cars in the sport’s most high-profile event.
From July 13 through midnight July 24, fans can register electronically to be part of this unique opportunity. Tony Stewart Racing, Armor All®, Bass Pro Shops® and STP® wanted to give their fans an even greater sense of involvement in Sprint car racing’s premiere event.
Adding fan’s names to the TSR No. 11 Bass Pro Shops/JD Byrider/Chevrolet/Maxim entry driven by Kinser and the TSR No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevy/J&J entry of Schatz is a way they can be along for the whole ride.
Fans can participate by either logging onto www.tonystewartracing.com/knoxville2011and submit their information, or they can pick up specially coded promotional cards at both the Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz merchandise trailers at seven upcoming WoO races. These cards include a special QR code that can be read by a QR reader application available for most Smartphones, which will lead them to the entry form.
Both the website and QR code path take interested fans to a screen that begins the registration process by asking to which of TSR’s Knoxville Nationals entries they’d like to submit their name for potential inclusion. The second screen asks for details including: name, e-mail address, ZIP code and birth year. Once the information is complete, fans will have to wait until the week of July 25 to learn if their name will be on the cars once they hit the dirt at Knoxville Raceway. Each participant will receive an e-mail during that week letting them know the results of the campaign. There are a limited number of spaces, and the available spaces on the cars will be filled by names that were entered the earliest.
