Ferrari Charity Auction In Tokyo: Over 500,000 Euros Collected

MARANELLO, ITALY - July 6, 2011: Over 200 passionate clients and collectors participated in today’s charity auction at the Italian embassy in Tokyo to collect money for the city of Ishinomaki, which was severely hit by the earthquake in Japan last March.

The auction was a great success, where some shirts, signed by the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, and the first FF on the Japanese market, were auctioned off.

Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, the Italian ambassador Vincenzo Petrone, the Japanese Minister of Industry Banri Kaieda and Ishinomaki’s mayor Hiroshi Kameyama participated in the event. The FF was won at the auction by an architect from Tokyo, Masaharu Seno, who offered more than the other bidders. With the over 500,000 Euros collected, Ferrari will build a school for the children of Ishinomaki. This initiative is a first and was also used to celebrate the first 35 years of Ferrari in Japan.
