MARANELLO, ITALY – July 6, 2011: BBC Radio 2 presenter, Chris Evans, concluded his annual charity drive and dine event with a full throttle assault on the hillclimb at Goodwood, raising £1.1million for Children in Need. This year’s selection of vehicles featured the best from Maranello’s past and present, including the latest Ferrari limited editions, the SA Aperta and the 599 GTO, which were joined by the F40, 250 GT Lusso, 275 GTB/4, 288 GTO and 365 GTC.

The ultra-exclusive SA Aperta features the same 670hp 6.0-litre V12 as in the 599 GTO and is limited to 80 examples worldwide. This particular example has a unique paint scheme which was inspired by one of the most beautiful and successful racing cars of all time, the 250 TR. The car also features special painted “Scuderia shields” on the front wings which echo the style of badge used during the 1950s and 60s, a detail which was personally requested by Evans.

The “Magnificent Seven” were also joined at Goodwood by several other classic and iconic Ferraris from the Prancing Horse’s stable, including the recently-launched FF, Ferrari’s first four-wheel drive car, an unrestored 375 MM, an iconic 312 B3 previously driven by Niki Lauda, and, of course, the 2010 F10 in which Fernando Alonso notched up five race wins last season, driven during the Goodwood event by Scuderia test driver, Marc Gené.

Videos from this year’s Festival of Speed, including an interview with Chris Evans about his “Magnificent Seven”, James Martin driving the FF, Marc Gené and the Ferrari F10, the 458 Italia hillclimb and the 375 MM are all available to view on www.ferrari.com. The videos will also be available to download for media use via the Ferrari media website.
