WARRENDALE, PA--July 1, 2011: SAE International Assistant Editor Matthew Monaghan has won an Award of Excellence as part of the 23rd Annual Awards for Publication Excellence Competition (APEX).

Monaghan is being honored in the "Green" Magazines & Journals category for his Nissan Leaf issue of Vehicle Electrification, SAE International's digital magazine which is part of it new vehicle electrification Web site - SAE EV.  

The APEX Awards are sponsored by the editors of Writing That Works: The Business Communications Report. More than 3,300 entries were received from organizations nationwide. Awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry -- in the opinion of the judges -- in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. The "Green" Magazines & Journals category is new for 2011 and covers subjects such as energy, efficiency, conservation, the environment, climate issues, and eco-friendly content.
