Visitors to the Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) will have an opportunity to test drive the Mitsubishi i-MiEV for themselves.

SYDNEY – June 30, 2011: In conjunction with the Victorian Government’s Electric Vehicle Trial, Mitsubishi is supplying three of its electric vehicles, the i-MiEV, for use in the AIMS Test Drive Experience.

The AIMS Test Drive Experience will include the latest in electric vehicle (EV) technology, allowing attendees to this year’s motor show to experience a range of new products including Australia’s first volume-produced EV, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

To book a test drive, attendees to this year’s motor show just have to visit the Mitsubishi Motors stand, where they will receive a drive token to take to the Test Drive Experience registration booth in the foyer.

The test drives will last around 20 minutes and participants will choose to either drive themselves or let a representative do the driving. After their test drive they will be asked to participate in a survey which will assist planning for the arrival of this new technology as part of the Victorian Electric Vehicle Trial (www.transport.vic.gov.au/evtrials).

The 2011 Australian International Motor Show is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 – 10 July 2011.

The i-MiEV, which stands for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, is the first volume produced electric vehicle to be available for sale on the Australian market. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be available from selected Mitsubishi dealers in all capital cities from mid-August. In the interim period, all customer enquiries regarding the availability of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV should be directed to 1300 13 12 11.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited recommends that the i-MiEV electric vehicle always be charged using renewable or “green” energy.
