SANTA CRUZ, CA--June 29, 2011: International Institute for Ecological Agriculture (IIEA):

WHAT -- The International Institute for Ecological Agriculture (IIEA) announced today that it has teamed with Ford Motor Company to demonstrate the benefits of locally produced appropriate-scale alcohol fuel for Flex Fuel vehicles. IIEA will use its new Ford F150 Flex Fuel truck and program development funds for events and appearances around the country. IIEA will showcase how we can produce appropriate-scale alcohol fuel for use in such varied applications as:

  • Replacing toxic and costly fossil fuels for transportation
  • Stopping the number 1 global cause of deforestation, replacing hazardous open indoor fires for cooking with clean sustainable and locally produced alcohol fuel produced from surplus and waste stream resources, native and cultivated crops.
  • Stimulating rural economic recovery by including US farmers in the transformation of our national energy programs

In addition to providing the new truck, Ford is helping fund IIEA's educational outreach and advocacy programs for alternative energy development. IIEA teaches people how to convert surplus and waste stream resources as well as native and non-edible plants stocks to alcohol fuel for less than a dollar a gallon.

According to Blume,"We are delighted to have Ford Motor Company's participation in our advocacy for economic revitalization and environmental healing for our communities, our nation and planet. Alcohol fuel provides safe and affordable liquid solar energy ideally suited for indoor cooking applications as well as gasoline and diesel used for transportation all over the world."

WHEN: Wednesday June 29, 2011 Mr. Blume a globally renowned regenerative Agriculture and Biofuels expert is author of the Amazon.com book Alcohol Can Be A Gas! will receive the new Ford truck at 10:00am PT at the organization's mailing address 343 Soquel Ave in downtown Santa Cruz, CA.

Press is invited to attend the Truck delivery and to talk with David about current events as well as what he and Ford will be doing to spread the word about alternative energy.
