INDIANAPOLIS, June 28, 2011: Preparations for the third annual International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) are in full swing and the excitement level of attendees may be the highest it’s ever been.

The third annual IMIS event is scheduled for Dec. 8-10, 2011 at the Indiana Convention Center, and attendee registration is up 700 percent, year-to-date, from 2010.

IMIS, a three-day hardcore racing trade show featuring seminars and conferences, including the third annual Safety and Technical Conference, was founded in 2009 by Chris Paulsen, owner of C&R Racing, Tom Weisenbach, executive director of the Indiana Motorsports Association (IMA), Jeff Stoops, president of Stoops Freightliner, and two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.

“We couldn’t be happier with our attendee registration to this point,” Paulsen said. “The fact that our registration numbers are up 700 percent over this point last year shows that the hardcore racing industry is excited about IMIS, even though the racing season is still young and the show is more than five months away.”

Any member of the racing trade interested in attending the show can register for free at www.imis-indy.com.

AERA coming to IMIS: AERA Engine Builders Association has chosen IMIS for its last regional tech and skills conference of 2011. The organization, established in 1922, will be the presenting sponsor of the Engine Seminar room and leads each day of the show with informative and cutting-edge seminars for engine builders attending IMIS.

“Having AERA come to IMIS is huge as we continue to grow,” Paulsen said. “It is a highly respected organization and its presence will be incredibly beneficial to our attendees. We’re thrilled to have AERA as part of IMIS.”

AERA is the pre-eminent technical resource and industry voice for internal combustion engine builders, remanufacturers, machine shops, OEMs, suppliers and service providers worldwide. It is the industry’s oldest and most authoritative organization, serving an international membership made up of thousands of small and large businesses ranging from mining and manufacturing to Formula 1 racing.

“We’re extremely excited to be part of IMIS,” said Jim Rickoff, AERA Marketing Manager. “In just a few short years, it has become a ‘must-attend’ show for the racing industry. This partnership will be very good for both IMIS and AERA.”
