GAYDON, UNITED KINGDOM – June 27, 2011: Jaguar has reaffirmed its commitment to Team Sky by extending its partnership for the 2011 season.

Jaguar has supported the front-running team since last year with the provision of vehicles to transport vital equipment not only to and from events but also providing backup during stages should problems be encountered by the riders. In addition to the 10 team cars, examples of the new XF and XJ will be provided, allowing the riders and support personnel a practical, comfortable and spacious environment in which to travel between events which will include the Tour de France and the Vuelta de Espana events.

On July 2 a nine-man squad representing Team Sky will start the Tour de France including talented Britons Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Ben Swift. Following the riders will be a fleet of specially adapted Jaguars, each of which will have four spare Pinarello Dogma 60.1 carbon frames mounted on the roof of the vehicle that are able to be switched in seconds should a fault develop on a bicycle being ridden by a member of the team.

During the upcoming Tour de France the Jaguar fleet will follow the team through 21 gruelling stages comprising six mountain stages and a total of 2,156-miles with just two rest days factored into the schedule.

Dave Brailsford, Team Principal of Team Sky, commented: 'It’s a tremendous boost to have the commitment made by Jaguar behind us, the logistical support provided by the vehicles is key to the smooth running of the team. We look forward to covering many more miles this season as we look to build on our performance over the past 12-months.'

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars UK, commented: 'We're pleased to be able to continue our support of such a promising and dedicated team. We wish the riders the very best of luck and look forward to following their progress this season.'
