Ventura, June 26, 2011: The Markus Niemela Experience posted another solid performance at the big money All Coast Construction Challenge at Ventura Raceway last night. The talented young Finn, drove his signature electric blue #69 Steve Watt Enterprises/Maxwell Industries 360, to his first pro sprint heat win of the season, then finished the evening with a sixth in the main.

"I won the heat ahead of Jimmy Crawford and Cory Kruseman (who is one of the best non-wing sprint car drivers in the world), and then started 5th in the main. Unfortunately, we mis-read the track conditions in between sessions and simply missed the setup. As a result the car was all over the place."

"It was first time in seven races that I didn't have enough speed to fight for the win at the end. But, the main thing is that we figured out what happened, understand the reasons, and will learn from it."

Markus now leaves the US for Finland, where he will begin taping for the second season of reality TV's Markus Niemela Experience.

In other Niemela-related competition news; Markus won his ninth event out of ten tries in the BMX 19-27 Expert Division championship just before heading off to Europe.
