INDIANAPOLIS, June 21, 2011: With booth space, attendee registrations and reserved hotel room nights already on record pace, officials from the growing International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) announced today that the 2011 event will feature a new INDYCAR Pavilion when its doors open in December.

IMIS is a three-day trade show featuring seminars, conferences – including the third annual Safety and Technical Conference – and more than 650 exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest in racing parts and technology. The third annual IMIS event is scheduled for Dec. 8-10, 2011 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

New in 2011 will be the INDYCAR Pavilion, which will be a focal area for all things related to the IZOD IndyCar Series, the Firestone Indy Lights Series and the Mazda Road to Indy programs. Attractions and features confirmed to date for the INDYCAR Pavilion include:

· 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series racecars

· Racecars representing the various Mazda Road to Indy series

· 2011 Mazda Road to Indy Season Champions racecars

· Exhibitor space from official INDYCAR partners

In addition to the pavilion area, there will be INDYCAR-specific seminars and conferences in the areas of safety, engineering and driver development.

“We feel it is very important to have a significant role at the International Motorsports Industry Show as it is a great fit for our grassroots marketing and driver development plans,” said Randy Bernard, chief executive officer of INDYCAR. “This is a great opportunity to engage potential drivers about the opportunities that can be found in the Mazda Road to Indy, educate the motorsports world about our new car set to debut next year and align all of our series with a great industry event right in our hometown.”

IMIS was founded in 2009 by Chris Paulsen, owner of C&R Racing, Tom Weisenbach, executive director of the Indiana Motorsports Association (IMA), Jeff Stoops, president of Stoops Freightliner, and two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.

“The Indianapolis 500 is the greatest race in the world, so it really excites us that its sanctioning body sees the significance of the International Motorsports Industry Show,” Paulsen said. “The leadership of INDYCAR, under the direction of Randy (Bernard), has rejuvenated open-wheel racing of all types. IMIS is eager to play a role in the growth and resurgence of open-wheel racing, especially INDYCAR racing.”
