Harrision Township, June 17, 2011: Michigan International Speedway President Roger Curtis took a dive this week with Army Staff Sgt. Aaron Figel, a member of the Army Golden Knights tandem jump team. The skydive over Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township, Mich., was from 13,500 feet with a freefall reaching 120 mph. “It was indescribable. I was on sensory overload so I need another jump to truly appreciate what I was doing,” Curtis said. It was Curtis’ first time skydiving. The Army is celebrating its 236th birthday at MIS this weekend, host of Sunday’s Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400. (Photo provided by the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team.)
