BIRCH RUN, June 16, 2011: As a young driver learning the racing ropes, Late Model Stock Car driver Cody Coughlin knows that any time behind the wheel of a racecar is a chance to learn, even if right turns are required.

Ahead of this Friday's JEGS/CRA All-Stars SeriesDixie 100 presented by JEGS.com at Dixie Motor Speedway, Coughlin did some racing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course under the watchful guidance of former Formula One racer Tommy Byrne.

"It was a great day," Coughlin said. "Mr. Byrne taught me several things that I know will transfer to my JEGS.com Chevy. A touch of the brakes here or the slightest adjustment of the steering wheel at a certain point of a turn can make all the difference. When you're racing for hundredths of a second, it all matters."

It was good practice for Coughlin because the last JEGS/CRA All-Stars race was rained out and rescheduled for July 9. He did get in some local action at Columbus Motor Speedway, but nothing compares to action in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Series.

"Every time I race I get a little bit better and more confident," Coughlin said. "Rainouts can really break your momentum, so I was glad to be able to make some hot laps around Mid-Ohio to keep my skills up, and we also went to a local race at Columbus Motor Speedway where we finished eighth. Seat time is always a good thing.

"I can't wait to get to Dixie Motor Speedway with my crew, mom, dad and sister so we can make all of the people at JEGS proud."

Friday's qualifying for the Dixie 100 presented by JEGS.com begins at 5:45 p.m. EDT at Dixie Motor Speedway, which will be followed by an autograph session at 6:15 p.m. Racing will get under at 7 p.m.
