SYDNEY – June 5, 2011: Australia will become only the second country to see Subaru’s exciting XV Concept compact sports utility vehicle, when it goes on show at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne on 1 July.

A headline-grabber at April’s Auto Shanghai 2011 motor show, the symmetrical All-Wheel Drive XV Concept points to a possible new generation Subaru offering rugged sophistication.

The fun-themed crossover vehicle highlights the success of Subaru’s recreational channel, pioneered so successfully by Outback and Forester.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “We’re delighted to showcase this newest Subaru concept and will be seeking feedback on our stand at the show to gauge the level of possible customer interest in such a car.

“It promises to be a totally new offering. The XV Concept was warmly received in Shanghai and based on the long-term success of Forester and Outback, we can see this type of vehicle could have huge potential in pursuing a new niche in Australia.

“XV Concept is fashionable, practical and underpinned by new generation Subaru technology and we’re hopeful there will be a lot of interest.”

It will be displayed on the Subaru stand in Melbourne from 1-10 July.
