RENO, May 30, 2011: Phil Giebler Racing’s Jess Peterson led all 15 laps en route to victory Saturday in the TaG Senior feature in the Superkarts! USA Pro Kart Challenge North at Desert Park Raceway.

Peterson, of Sparks, Nev., also won a 10-lap heat race. He was second in the other heat race and qualified second at 48.460 seconds, an average speed of 65.002 mph on the .875-mile course. There were 17 starters in the feature. Peterson drove a 125cc-water cooled Vortex-powered FA Kart on MG tires.

“Jess has worked hard over the last couple months and it's great to see him back on the top of the podium,” team owner Phil Giebler said. “We worked together in 2006 and together we won the Stars of Karting Western division championship in the ICA category.”

Phil Giebler Racing, owned by the 2007 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, is based in Orange, Calif., and competes in karting events coast-to-coast in the USA. In addition to preparing the karts, Giebler, a resident of Huntington Beach, Calif., provides driver coaching.
