MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – May 20, 2011: Mercedes-Benz offers $5,000 Cash back now to beat the budget

The latest Federal Budget has proposed a $5,000 write off in the 2012/3 tax year for the purchase of motor vehicles by businesses with turnover of $2M or less. Federal Treasurer, Wayne Swan said “It will mean a tradesman, on a 30 per cent marginal tax rate, will receive a tax break of $1275 when buying a new $33,960 ute. This would be a very important measure which will help tradies in terms of their cash flow. Small business is very much to the forefront of our thoughts because not everyone is going to be in the fast lane of the economy”, said Swan.

Dr. Kolja Rebstock, Managing Director Commercial Vehicles, Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd said "Let's stop swanning around, we are offering $5,000 cash back on selected EU4 Vito vans purchased and delivered before June 30, 2011. We support this initiative to allow small businesses to immediately write of $5,000 off a vehicle purchase, but we say small business needs this help now, not after the 1st July 2012. We say bugger the budget - let’s make it simple without complex formulas, buy an EU4 Vito and pocket the cash now!

The Mercedes-Benz Vito is the only five star ANCAP rated van in Australia that delivers safety, economy, comfort, performance and flexibility. It's the Mercedes-Benz that’s priced like a van. Now with $5,000 cash back we are giving small business not just the best van in its class but $5000 cash to put back into their business”, said Rebstock.
