LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – May 18, 2011: The Chevrolet Orlando has already established itself as the ideal car to serve the needs of British families, but now it's playing a bigger role supporting families in need thanks to a tie-in with automotive industry charity BEN.

Chevrolet UK is pleased to announce their support for the automotive industry charity BEN in the form of a Chevrolet Orlando LT. BEN is the UK’s only charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependants.

The six-month loan will see the Orlando in use at Alexandra House, BEN’s care centre in Southport where it will play a key role in increasing mobility for appointments, shopping and outings for all of the residents.

Mark Terry, Managing Director of Chevrolet UK visited BEN’s head office in Ascot for the official handover. Speaking about the loan and Chevrolet’s relationship with BEN, Terry commented: “BEN is Chevrolet’s chosen industry charity and we are so pleased that we have been able to support them with a six-month loan of an Orlando. We were more than happy to lend a hand and support such a worthwhile charity, especially one that does so much for the automotive industry.”

Ray Diggins, BEN’s Head of Marketing, commented: “This generous donation will make a real difference to daily life at Alexandra House, allowing residents to get out and about in style. We are immensely grateful to Chevrolet for their enthusiastic support of BEN and are looking forward to working with them on a wide range of other exciting projects.”

BEN’s brand new Smokey Grey Chevrolet Orlando LT comes with the 2.0-litre diesel engine and a list of standard specifications that are anything but basic. The LT comes superbly equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control, leather-covered steering wheel, an upgraded sound system, multi-function steering wheel and USB connectivity. What’s more the Orlando comes with ESC, remote central locking, six airbags and follow-me-home headlights. The Orlando also introduces two clever new innovations – a supplementary rear-view mirror allowing both driver and passenger to see all the car’s occupants and an extremely clever hidden compartment behind the stereo facia; the perfect place to keep MP3s, phones and iPods away from prying eyes!
