MAPLE CROSS, UNITED KINGDOM – May 16, 2011: The multi-award winning Nissan LEAF and Qashqai have each picked up yet another trophy in the 2011 Fleet World Honours. The Nissan LEAF won the Environmental Award and the Qashqai was named Best SUV.

The Fleet World Honours are presented annually to those motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.

Fleet World editor, Steve Moody, said: “Until the Nissan LEAF, electric cars have been a consideration for only the most particular role in a business. Now though, the LEAF’s practical, four-seat configuration, clever use of iPhone integration and sat nav, as well as class-leading range mean that more fleets will be able to use an EV. And as an added bonus, it’s great fun to drive too.

Of the Qashqai he said, “It continues to defy all attempts to knock it off its number one pedestal, selling in vast numbers, despite being in one of the most competitive sector in the market. Last year, more efficient new models helped keep it there.”
