Tokyo--May 9, 2011: JAMA UPDATE NEWS Japanese Automakers' 2010 Overseas Production Statistics (Fourth Quarter & Annual Total, Calendar 2010)

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers during the fourth quarter of calendar year 2010 totaled 3,504,821 units, a gain of 12.2% from the same quarter in the previous year. This outcome reflects expanded local production in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America during the quarter under review.

The growth in local production worldwide is also reflected in the cumulative total for January through December 2010, which stands at 13,181,462 units, up 30.3% from the yearly total for calendar 2009.
