Cenex to Deliver UK Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Conference 2011

COVENTRY, England--April 28, 2011: Cenex, the UK's Centre of Excellence in Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies, is to deliver a two-day technical conference on hybrid and electric vehicles from 18th- 19th May 2011 at the University of Warwick. Twenty research papers will be presented over the duration of the two-day conference, which aims to raise awareness of the technical, human and policy issues facing the emerging hybrid and electric vehicle market and enable delegates to formulate better strategies for the future.

The event will also include an exhibition by key companies working in this nascent sector, and an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals at the event Gala Dinner at Warwick Castle. Schneider Electric will be the main event sponsor with Ricardo, RDVS, Mahle Powertrain and Panasonic as session sponsors. In addition, project partners to the £29m Low Carbon Vehicle Technology Programme at Warwick University (Coventry University, Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors, MIRA, Ricardo and Zytek) will be in attendance in a parallel session, and exhibiting at the event.

Highlights of the programme include keynote addresses from renowned industry specialist Dr. Alan Lloyd, President of the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), whose work focuses on the future of advanced technology and renewable fuels to reduce emissions, and from Andrew Everett, Head of Transport for the Technology Strategy Board, that has directed over £110m of public funding into research development and demonstration for low carbon vehicles.

Conference sessions will cover Business Considerations, User Behaviour, Infrastructure, Real World Use and Vehicle Technologies, and include presentations and papers from leading universities, consultancies and companies including IBM Global Business Services, Lotus Engineering and Mahle Powertrain.
