WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, April 22, 2011 -- J.D. Power and Associates will announce the results of its inaugural 2011 Green Automotive Study at 4 a.m. ET on Wednesday, April 27.

The inaugural Green Automotive Study examines attitudes of consumers planning to purchase or lease a new vehicle within the next one to five years toward four primary alternative powertrain technologies: hybrid-electric vehicles; clean diesel engines; plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles; and battery electric vehicles.

The study gauges consumer likelihood to consider a particular powertrain type for their next new vehicle purchase and further explores specific benefits and concerns that factor into the decision-making process.

The study also captures both the specific challenges alternative powertrain technologies face and the ways in which they are building positive perception.

J.D. Power and Associates automotive analysts will be available for both print and broadcast interviews regarding study findings after 4:00 a.m. E.T./1:00 a.m. P.T.
