Long Beach, Apr. 17, 2011: Mazdaspeed driver Conor Daly won today's Firestone Indy Lights round at the venerable Long Beach circuit. The youngster ran in the top 3 all afternoon after starting 4th, but moved up to 2nd, when Peter Dempsey missed a shift that ended his day.

Subsequently, Daly proceeded to stalk and harry his Schmidt teammate Josef Newgarden for last half of the race until four laps from the end, when the leader missed a braking zone and pounded the wall at turn 7. With the event closing out, Daly took the win under yellow.

The victory was Daly's first Lights victory, and now prepares to return to Europe in order to begin his 2011 GP3 season with Carlin Motorsports.
