SYDNEY – April 13, 2011: Renault Australia has announced a five-year/unlimited km factory warranty for new passenger vehicles sold after 1 April 2011, the longest of any European brand.

Renault is also providing five-years of 24/7 roadside assistance.

The five-year warranty applies to Renault passenger cars such as Mégane Hatch, Fluence Sedan, Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet, Koleos and the new Latitude medium luxury Sedan.

The track-bred Renault Sport range continues with the market competitive three-year/100,000km warranty, while Renault Light Commercial Vehicles continue with their market competitive three-year/150,000km warranty.

Renault has been introducing peace-of-mind enhancing services over the past few months. These include introducing service demonstrator loan vehicles at Renault dealers, and a one-year warranty for maintenance and repairs carried out by Renault dealers.

“We are very pleased that we are now able to offer a five-year warranty for our passenger car customers in Australia,” says Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.

“This follows the strategic decision to dramatically improve the value proposition and competitiveness of new Renault models introduced into the Australian market over past six months.

“We see the five-year warranty, coupled with this exceptional value proposition of our young range of modern, attainable vehicles, as adding a fundamental benefit to customers who are considering the purchase of a new Renault,” Justin said.

“We are taking a firm leadership position as the first European brand to offer a five-year warranty. This underlines our commitment to this market and to our customers.

“This warranty will give customers additional confidence in their choice of a Renault.

“There is a business case behind this offer and it is built on the facts of modern generation Renault reliability.

“There has been a perception in that past that Renault reliability was not great, but in the era of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, our warranty claims have fallen dramatically.

“We are confident this bold move by Renault will be quickly accepted by passenger car buyers across Australia,” he said.
