Win a Renault Race Car At The 2011 Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix

ALBERT PARK, AUSTRALIA – March 24, 2011: Renault will give away a car raced at the Albert Park Grand Prix track this weekend. Across the Grand Prix weekend, Renault will have four Mégane Renault Sport 250s competing in a unique support race, the Red Bull Race Off, and one lucky visitor to the Renault stand at the 2011 Formula 1 QANTAS Australian Grand Prix will walk away with the keys.

The Mégane Renault Sport 250 is the latest in a long line of sporting Renault cars, and the newly launched Mégane Renault Sport 250 has already secured the Top Gear Magazine’s overall Car of the Year, and Hot Hatch of the Year, Drive Car of the Year Award for Performance Cars under $60,000, as well as securing a strong podium finish in the 2010 Wheels Car of the Year awards.

For the Red Bull Race Off, Renault Australia will be making a number of modifications to the Mégane Renault Sport 250s to ensure the best possible safety for the drivers. A six-point full roll cage will be installed into each vehicle along with a racing window net. Each driver will have a racing seat fitted along with a 5-point racing harness. In addition, the vehicles will have fire extinguishers fitted. All modifications made to the vehicles are in line with CAMS regulations for the safe operation of the Red Bull Race Off.

In order to enter the competition to win one of the Mégane Renault Sport 250s, visitors need to make their way to the Renault Experience Stand that is located within F1 Central at the Albert Park Circuit. To be eligible to enter, entrants must be aged 18 years and over and hold an Australian current full driver’s licence.

The live draw will take place on Sunday 27th March at 2:30pm at the Renault Experience stand. Robbie Maddison, who will be competing in the Red Bull Race Off, will conduct the draw.

The winner can either choose to claim the vehicle with the modifications or without. If the winner chooses to claim the vehicle with the modifications the vehicle will be classed as a race car not able to be driven on public roads in Victoria. Only a person holding a licence or permit that legally allows them to drive racing cars can choose the vehicle with modification. If they choose to claim he vehicles without modifications it will be restored so that it can be registered for driving on public roads
