Brigadier General Daniel O'Donohue, USMC to Provide Keynote Address at Tactical Vehicles Summit

NEW YORK--March 4, 2011:IDGA's Tactical Vehicles Summit is proud to announce the fourth installment as the nation's foremost event addressing the strategy, procurement, challenges, and opportunities in tactical vehicles. This year's event will not only feature a 2500 foot exhibition floor, but a full 3 day conference as well.

"This summit is perfectly timed," said Luis Hernandez, Program Director of IDGA"s Tactical Vehicles Summit. "A lot is going on in military vehicle development due to the current engagement in Afghanistan. Brigadier General Daniel O'Donohue, USMC, Director of the Combat Development Directorate is reviewing the United States Marine Corps operational requirements for tactical vehicles," said Hernandez. "Specifically, issues like armor vulnerability, gaps in armor technology, vehicle weight, as well as mine protection and blast mitigation."

In 2010 over 500 DoD, military and industry personnel attended the summit from across the United States and foreign allies. "We are expecting this event to be 18% larger than last year," added Hernandez. "There has been a large push for its success in the industry." This year's speakers and exhibitors include representatives from organizations such as: Cougar MRAP, PEO Land Systems, JPO MRAP, SPAWAR Systems, GAO, SDDC, Embassy of Australia, USMC, AM General, Marine Corps System Command, Israeli MOD, VMR Electronics, Carpenter Technology Corporation, Grote Industries, Transhield Inc., SKYDEX Technologies, Inc., Sika Corporation, Falck Schmidt Defence Systems, among others.

The main summit starts with keynote Brigadier General Donnelly, Director of Force Development of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8 on Tuesday, April 19th. He will review key issues to the Army including the future of the MRAP, plans for the new Army truck, and vehicles needed for the next three years in Afghanistan. Following will be Brigadier General Daniel O'Donohue's keynote presentation.
