KIC Report On Off-Road Performance Karting

Las Vegas, Jan. 3, 2011: Often left on its own, the recreational off-road kart has actually become one of the fastest selling personal motorsports vehicles in the country. From the availability at major automotive retailers and the infusion of significant import volumes, these low cost, durable all-terrain karts have become a pre-curser to a new interest in performance karting in general.

These units have become so popular that a number of amateur class events have been formed to allow these karts to compete on marked dirt trails and courses. Like the ATV 4-wheeler, these karts, which are available in both single and double seat designs allow all levels of youth competition to safely race.

Our own research shows that most karting enthusiasts have a general interest in all things motorsport and given the opportunity will join in to compete when an opportunity presents itself.

With the diversity of the performance karting marketplace it is important for the KIC to embrace all forms of karting as they typically lead to cross market opportunities and allow our manufacturer/dealer base to expand their offerings to offset the peak and off-peak demands from the more traditional performance karting community.

Finally, our reason to include this category in our extended family is that they are subject to much of the same rules, regulations and safety issues more traditional performance karting programs face. Bringing their voice to the table helps everyone within the karting community to be heard.
