TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – December 21, 2010: The Honda Accord has received another accolade in the United States, achieving the best possible safety rating for 2011 model-year passenger cars tested under new U.S. evaluation standards.

Honda’s most awarded vehicle, the Accord attracted a five-star rating according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s web site.

Introduced to boost the overall safety of cars in the U.S., the Crash Tests saw Honda receiving five stars on side and frontal crashes as well as roll-overs.

The Accord is the most highly decorated vehicle in Honda’s history. It was the first Japanese car to win the coveted ‘Wheels Car of the Year’ award in 1977 during its first year in Australia and was named Drive Car of the Year and Large Car of the Year in 2008.
