UXBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM – November 9, 2010: Robert Bosch Limited received the Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year award at the 2010 ACFO (Association of Car Fleet Operators) annual awards dinner held in Birmingham. The award was sponsored by IAM Drive & Survive.

The award was won by Bosch for its ESP® (Electronic Stability Programme) technology with load adaptive control function for light commercial vehicles. ESP® helps to prevent vehicles from skidding and independent studies show that it can reduce the number of serious single vehicle accidents by up to 50 percent. The ESP® valued added function of load adaptive control takes into account the varied load carrying information associated with light commercial vehicles.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Company, David Fulker, Head of UK Chassis Systems Control Marketing at Robert Bosch Ltd. said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious fleet safety initiative award for ESP® with load adaptive control. What particularly pleases us is the fact that the award was voted for by ACFO members who look very carefully at vehicle safety systems for their own company fleets ” Julie Jenner, the Chairman of ACFO said “The awards continue to represent the true face of fleet operations and more than 130 nominations were received across seven categories.”
