SYDNEY – October 26, 2010: CARADVICE.COM.AU today announced the much-anticipated launch of its High Definition video channel. The core content on the channel is the expert reviews of Australia’s top selling cars, hosted by editor John Cadogan.

Other content includes exclusive supercar footage from the CarAdvice test team, along with car manufacturer promotional videos.

CarAdvice CEO, David Holmes commented on the launch saying, “video is the most important format for car buyers and car advertisers alike. In the US, car manufacturers are the heaviest advertisers in online video. This is because buying a car is such a complex decision and while television advertising brings reach and awareness, online provides the deep-dive into the product. Our video reviews are around 3-4 minutes in length and provide potential buyers with the most comprehensive and impartial experience of the car before they actually test one”.

In a first for Australian advertisers the ad technology deployed by CarAdvice offers both IAB standard positions combined with new video integration positions including Power-Rolls, In-Syncs and Ticker Boys. These new ad positions provide unparalleled levels of user engagement and data capture providing total creative flexibility for advertisers.

“The technology partners we have chosen provide us with the ability to reach our audience across all web and mobile platforms including iPad and iPhone while offering advertisers fresh creative environments”, Holmes said.

CarAdvice currently leads the market in automotive editorial content producing over 250 articles per month and this new venture will strengthen its ability to bring the most up-to-date information to new car buyers. The videos, hosted by Editor in Chief John Cadogan, are light-hearted and enjoyable to watch with a strong ‘Advice’ and comparison approach to the reviews designed to help car buyers make the right decision. A Google Automotive Study conducted in 2009 stated that, “…44% of new car buyers watched on online auto video…(and) this trend is growing.”

The high definition (HD) videos will be available through the website, mobile devices and via various social media channels to CarAdvice’s 288,866 strong audience.

The video channel will launch on 26th October with approximately 200 videos and many more to come each week. The video channel will deliver value for everyone with the launch of new car reviews and full-throttle features.
