Suzuki: New Swift Wins Its Class In MPG Marathon

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – Sept 23, 2010: Suzuki’s latest addition to the model range, the all-new Swift, took part in the recent 2010 MPG Marathon and achieved a spectacular result. The new Swift 1.2 with Dual VVT 94ps petrol engine was driven by Western Group Regional journalist Dave Moss and Community driving instructor Mike Hull; it achieved an overall fuel consumption figure of 68.10mpg, an improvement of 20.5 per cent on the official consumption figure of 56.5mpg and the winner of the competition’s class 1 ‘improvement’ category.

The MPG Marathon; organised annually by Fleet World magazine started at Ettington, Stratford upon Avon and took 34 competing vehicles on a challenging 380-mile route designed to reflect normal daily driving conditions and included major roads, motorways and dual carriageways.
