Ford Partners With The People's Fleet to Help Non-Profits Execute Philanthropic Works

- Ford Motor Company is providing four 2011 Ford Fiestas to select non-profits throughout Southern California to help them execute their charitable works - Qualified non-profit organizations pursuing positive social change throughout Southern California can register at ThePeoplesFleet.com for the chance to receive a brand new Ford Fiesta for any given week throughout the two month program period; the fifth 'Project Car' will be provided to a total of eight organizations to assist with their charitable missions - In addition to the vehicle, organizations will receive gas cards, flip cameras and a professional film crew to help capture their daily struggles, challenges, and rewards - all posted for viewing at ThePeoplesFleet.com site

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 -- In a unique pilot program to highlight non-profit organizations and their philanthropic work, Ford Motor Company has announced a partner program dubbed The People's Fleet to draw attention to philanthropic work and the company's newly redesigned and reintroduced generation-y focused Ford Fiesta.

Southern California was selected as the pilot program region for four non-profits to receive a vehicle free of charge to assist them with the work they are performing at the local and global level. Qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations can apply now at www.thepeoplesfleet.com for the opportunity to be selected and for their work to be showcased weekly throughout the two month program.

Applicant organizations and their missions will be evaluated for consideration if they perform any services within the Health, Food & Shelter, Arts & Culture, Education, Environment and Transportation or Human Rights fields. Following their application submission, they will be notified whether or not they are accepted into The People's Fleet within five to seven days.

The organizations selected will receive of a new Ford Fiesta, gas cards and a flip camera. Additionally, the non-profit groups and their dedicated staffs will be assisted by a professional team of storytellers to capture the critical work they are faced with each day as they work to create positive social change in their community.

Each week ThePeoplesFleet.com will feature episodes of daily user generated videos and journal entries containing unique insights into the charitable work being performed. The goal of the program is to drive awareness and attention to the causes and missions of charities and the thousands of individuals being serviced by them each day.
