STUTTGART, Germany and ATLANTA - September 10, 2010: Just one year after its initial market launch in Europe, the Porsche Panamera has exceeded sales expectations with customer deliveries of 22,518 internationally.

In the U.S., where Porsche's fourth model line was introduced in October of 2009, sales of the Panamera are already at 6,188. In Germany, where the Panamera is built at Porsche's production facility in Leipzig, 2,530 cars were delivered. These results come as Porsche is enjoying a strong initial customer response to the recently launched V6 Panamera models--a fact that attests to the successful development of an even larger customer segment for this sporty Porsche four door.

In major markets throughout the world, the Gran Turismo has found a large number of fans. As expected, interest in the four-seater is significant in Asia: 300 Panamera models were delivered in Hong Kong, 223 in Tokyo and 188 vehicles were delivered in Shanghai, where the Gran Turismo was initially unveiled in April 2009. Very gratifying figures were also reported by other cosmopolitan cities, such as Dubai (285), Moscow (203), and in Munich (196).

In the U.S., some 890 vehicles are already cruising the streets of Los Angeles and 760 on the streets of New York.

"Our corporate strategy of value-oriented growth has proven itself to be a successful model: With the Panamera, Porsche has clearly positioned itself with the sportiest automobile in the high-end and luxury-class market and achieves already a 13 percent share of its segment today," summarized Bernhard Maier, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.

There are five models available in the new Gran Turismo series: Panamera and Panamera 4 with 300 HP and a six-cylinder engine, Panamera S and Panamera 4S (400 HP and an eight-cylinder engine), as well as the Panamera Turbo (500 HP and an eight-cylinder engine). With 9,394 vehicles delivered worldwide, the Panamera 4S is at the head of the charts, followed by the performance-leader, Panamera Turbo (6,171 vehicles) and the Panamera S (4,563 vehicles). The six-cylinder-model Panamera, introduced only a few weeks ago, has already been delivered to 2,390 customers. The color selection also keeps Panamera drivers in line with the latest trends. So far, the most popular colors for the Gran Turismo have been basalt black metallic, carrara white and carbon grey metallic.
