EAST LANSING, Michigan (September 1, 2010) - It is time to go racing again for the
Trans-Am Series; Tomy Drissi and the RSR team are more than ready to get back on
 track for another challenge as they head to Brainerd International Raceway this
 weekend for Round 8 of the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series.
A regular event at BIR during the raceway's early years, the Trans-Am Series returns
to the Brainerd, Minnesota track for the first time in 20 years. Drissi, who made
his Trans-Am debut back in 1999, has never competed on the 2.5 mile - 13 turn road
course, but is backed by the support and effort of five-time Trans-Am Series Champion
and team owner Paul Gentilozzi, who is no stranger to the venue having made several
starts in the late-80's.
It has been four weeks since the last round in Joliet, Illinois, which saw Drissi
have a fast car all weekend before a mechanical failure took him out of the chase
for the win. He will be looking to redeem himself this weekend and has kept his 
driving skills sharp by competing in one-off races in the American Le Mans Series
(Mid-Ohio, finished on the podium in the LMP1 class), the Rolex Monterey Motorsports
Reunion 2010 vintage car race, (Laguna Seca, finished second driving a 1970 Trans-Am
Chevrolet Camaro in the Group 7A class), and in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (Montreal,
finished 18th in a Dodge).
In seven rounds to date, Drissi has one win, one pole, three podiums, four top-fives,
and seven top-ten finishes. With three races remaining the Hollywood, California-native
currently sits third in the championship point standings with a total of 724 points,
trailer leader Tony Ave by 167, and is still in contention to defend his 2009 title.
The owner of Drissi Advertising will be promoting a new movie this weekend, 20th
 Century Fox's Unstoppable directed by Tony Scott starring Denzel Washington, Chris
Pine, and Rosario Dawson, out in theatres November 12. Driving the #5 Unstoppable
Jaguar XKR, Drissi will be making his 74th Trans-Am start.
"I always look forward to a new challenge, so I am excited to race this weekend 
at Brainerd International Raceway in the Jaguar XKR Trans-Am car," commented Drissi.
"We will have ample time for me to get acclimated with the track, so that will help
tremendously, but we still have to work quickly. I am hoping that the little black
cloud that has been hanging over us is gone for good now, as we need to have some
solid races to finish strong this season. We still have a shot at the championship
title, but it is not going to be easy with Tony Ave and RJ Lopez being so consistent
and quick. I know that we have a capable car to do the job, and top-notch crew to
go with it, so we will get out there and give it our all - like we do each race 
weekend. Hopefully this time we can come out on top and be 'Unstoppable'."
Drissi and the #5 UnstoppableJaguar XKR will be making an appearance at the Jaguar
Minneapolis Dealership this afternoon (3:00 - 7:00 p.m.) to get Jaguar and Trans-Am
enthusiasts excited about the upcoming event in their market. The SCCA Pro at Brainerd
and Muscle Car Shootout race weekend will kick off on Friday, September 3 with three
testing sessions for the Trans-Am cars. Saturday will host a morning practice session
before qualifying takes place at 1:55 p.m. CT. Following a morning warm up session
on Sunday, the 36 lap / 90 mile race is scheduled to take the green flag at 2:45
