CHICAGO - August 13, 2010: Despite the heat, humidity and a dramatic cloud burst, the Armitage Sidewalk Sale was an excellent backdrop for Teeny Tiny Productions' second exhibit of the Tres Petite Concours. Over 10,000 people shopped the Armitage Avenue sales and checked out Teeny Tiny cars.

Twenty microcars and minicars from 12 Chicago collections were exhibited along the 900 block of Armitage Avenue in Chicago's Lincoln Park over the weekend of July 16-17-18, 2010. The Tres Petite Concours exhibition was the newest addition to The 12th Annual Armitage Sidewalk Sale and 42nd Annual Sheffield Garden Walk & Festival, which combined, typically attract 50,000+ people.

Hundreds of children and adults, ages 5 to 85, voted in the "People's Choice" awards while enjoying the exhibition. Chicago's 43rd Ward Alderman Vi Daley and 5th District Congressman Mike Quigley even came out to vote for their favorite. The German Amphicar was crowned the overall event winner with the Abarth Zagato "Double Bubble" tallying in at a close second.

Heard on the street were: "Awesome. A lot of Fun," "Mommy, look at this one!," "These cars are sweet - and good lookin' too!," "Too hard to vote for just one, there are so many wonderful cars," and "So cool. Thank you." Local passersby brought others back with them the next day. Second and third-time visitors invited their friends, fathers, children, mothers and even grandmothers to join in on the fun.

New this exhibition was the Teeny Tiny Give-a-way. Exhibit visitors who voted for the "People's Choice" award were eligible for the chance to win 4-6 hours in a microcar or minicar with driver. Sunday afternoon, the winning ballot was chosen at random. Rather than catching a ride to the movies in a Cinquecento, Isetta or other small car, the winner decided to donate her prize to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Coming up the weekend of August 21-22, 2010 is the Micro/Minicar World Meet in Crystal Lake, IL. Back in 2006, the "Big City Small Cars" event was presented at the same site, which was and still is the largest National Micro Car show in the U.S. to date!
