Ranking Recognizes How Delighted Customers Are With Their Cars

ATLANTA, July 15, 2010; For an unprecedented six straight years, J.D. Power and Associates has ranked Porsche the highest overall brand in its highly regarded Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study(SM). The APEAL Study, now in its 15th year, is significant as it measures the passion owners have for their cars, including their delight with the design, content, layout and overall driving performance of their new vehicles.

Outperforming itself from last year's highest ranking, Porsche received an overall nameplate score of 877, which is eight points higher than what it achieved in 2009. The maximum possible score that can be achieved is 1,000 points.

Also notable is the fact that the Panamera, Porsche's highly acclaimed new four-door sedan that has been on sale less than a year, has earned the second-highest ranking in the highly competitive large premium car classification.

The 2010 APEAL Study is based on responses gathered this year from more than 76,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2010 model-year cars and trucks who were surveyed after the first 90 days of ownership. The J.D. Power and Associates APEAL study examines the critical design and performance characteristics that make a new vehicle a delight to own and drive. All told the study is based on the evaluations of more than 80 critical vehicle attributes.

Headquartered in Westlake Village, Calif., J.D. Power and Associates is a global marketing information services firm operating in key business sectors including market research, forecasting, consulting, training and customer satisfaction. The firm's quality and satisfaction measurements are based on responses from millions of consumers annually.
