J.D. Power and Associates will release the results of the 2010 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study at 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, July 15.

Unlike IQS, which measures short-term quality and VDS, which examines longer-term quality, the APEAL Study identifies consumer likes and dislikes about their vehicle during the first 90 days of ownership, particularly regarding vehicle design, content, layout and performance.

APEAL is also a measure of product satisfaction derived from the consumer's experience with their new vehicle.

The study results include the three highest-ranked models in each of the car and light-truck segments, and full nameplate rankings.

Automotive analysts will be available for print and broadcast interviews after 1 pm EDT from our Michigan and California offices.
