Mazda's Core Models Contribute To Global Production And Sales Increase

VICTORIA – June 29, 2010: Mazda Motor Corporation’s global production and sales results for the month of May continue to demonstrate growth with increases in both domestic (Japanese) production and sales and exports to all regions.

While Mazda’s core passenger car trio of Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda6 has driven a large portion of the 76.4pc year-on-year increase in global production, the stylish CX-7 SUV also needs to be recognised for its contribution. Domestic (Japanese) production of CX-7 has increased by a huge 718.1pc year-on-year while exports of CX-7 grew by an impressive 687.7pc year-on-year.

Exports in May were strong to all regions with North America, Europe and Oceania all experiencing year-on-year growth. However, May’s biggest export increase was to the Middle East, Asia, Central & South America and Africa which expanded by 150.2pc year-to-date.
