MELBOURNE – June 24, 2010: Headlamp globes fitted as standard equipment to many modern vehicles can be easily upgraded to substantially increase the light output to meet virtually every driver preference.

Australia’s leading automotive lighting specialist, Narva, offers the most comprehensive range of quality performance globes, improving night vision and overall road safety. For the motorist there is a wide range of options available which can make selection a daunting task for some, and this is where the specialists come in.

“Performance globes offer an easy cost effective way of improving the light output of the headlamps and overall road safety,” said Narva’s Marketing Manager, George Davies. “To assist motorists in making the ultimate choice for their vehicle and driving style Narva has simplified the selection process with practical guidelines and a simple demonstration unit. Basically two main options are available - more light volume or a whiter light which is easier on the eyes,” he said.

To explain this further George advised that headlamp globes are measured in Kelvin (K) and Lumen (lm).

Kelvin represents the colour temperature of a globe (measured in degrees Kelvin) indicating how yellow, white or blue the light is. By raising the colour temperature of a standard globe (3,000°K) the light starts to take on a whiter crisper appearance similar to that of daylight.

Lumen (lm) is a measure of the ‘total amount of volume’ of visible light emitted from the globe. Therefore the higher the Lumen rating the more light the globe produces.

Narva performance globes offer a variety of advantages for motorists with no increase in power consumption or heat which can impact on the vehicle wiring or the lamps reflectors. Each globe in the Narva range is ‘UV-Cut’ making them safe for use in modern polycarbonate lens headlamps.

The various Narva options include:

Plus 50 - a practical upgrade producing 50% more light volume resulting in a powerful longer beam by some 20 metres.

Blue Power - an all new technology globe with 80% more light and a 20% whiter light, producing 100% more vision. The Blue Power globe provides a higher measured luminance resulting in more light on the road and is regarded as the ultimate globe in the performance range.

Arctic Blue - produces a distinctive icy blue / white headlamp appearance with a brighter, whiter light which at 4000°K is closer to daylight.

Platinum - is a globe providing a high quality light output with an attractive icy blue appearance to on-coming traffic. It produces an intense metallic white light and has an amazing 4300°K rating.

Ultra Blue - produces a distinctively blue headlamp appearance for on-coming traffic, catering more for the younger motoring enthusiast looking to be seen.

According to the lighting experts reducing eye strain and enhancing road safety makes an easy cost effective upgrade an important factor to consider.
