DALLAS--RadioTime, Inc., a provider of technology for finding and listening to radio online, and peiker acustic GmbH & Co. KG, a developer of voice and data applications for motor vehicles, today announced peiker will leverage the RadioTime Guide into its OEM solutions for integrating smart phones and other Internet-connected audio devices into car audio systems.

RadioTime's technology will be offered as part of peiker's connected services platform to leading OEM manufacturers. Incorporating the RadioTime Electronic Program Guide (EPG) will enable users to see what's airing across AM/FM, HD and Internet-only radio stations on their in-car audio system displays. peiker and RadioTime are already working with major automotive manufacturers to add this joint solution to their audio systems, and plan to offer these capabilities by the end of 2010.

"Partnering with RadioTime will enable us to continue meeting our goal of designing communication in the vehicle so that different portable audio and entertainment devices can be easily connected to a car radio and enable users to use the car's in-dash or steering wheel controls to access those devices," said Reinhard Kromer-von Baerle, Senior Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, peiker. "Adding the RadioTime Guide means we can provide the market's most comprehensive directory of Internet radio stations to our solutions."

RadioTime provides an easy means of finding local, national or global radio programming airing on stations in 140 countries and broadcasting in 55 different languages. It provides an Open API to enable hardware manufacturers and software developers to add the RadioTime guide to their devices and applications.

"There is an ever-growing chorus from RadioTime users about wanting to access Internet radio in their cars because so many now plug their mp3 players or smart phones into their car stereos, but have to use their devices' controls to access the RadioTime Guide," said Bill Moore, founder and CEO, RadioTime, Inc. "Partnering with peiker will enable drivers to use their car radio controls to add their favorite radio stations and programs airing worldwide right next to their local radio presets."

Executives with peiker and RadioTime will be attending the Telematics Detroit show this week to officially unveil this joint solution.
