MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – Jun 8, 2010: SEAT is inviting journalists to take a fresh look at its revised, refreshed and generally reinvigorated UK press website at www.seatpress.co.uk

The site – already a favourite with task-rich, time-poor motoring writers thanks to its simple, easy-to-use design – has now been upgraded in a bid to further improve the UK press office service.

Incorporating the latest Tweets from the SEAT PR team in a live Twitter feed, as well as an RSS news function to make receiving the latest info from SEAT UK a job of just one click, the refreshed site also now includes a broader, more comprehensive image section and extensive SEAT product video library.

There’s also a link to the shiny new SEAT UK PR channel on YouTube which showcases the latest product PR videos and allows links from external sites. This will quickly grow into a handy online resource for the digital media.

Meanwhile Facebook users are now able to show they ‘like’ the revised site with a one-click button on the homepage.

Hundreds of motoring journalists from across the UK and further afield have already signed up for the SEAT UK site. Registration takes seconds and is quick, easy and painless and, once logged on, they’re instantly open to a world of useful facts, stats, pictures and videos relating to the sporty Spanish brand’s UK operation.

There are quick links on the home page taking visitors directly to the areas most likely to be of use if they’re chasing that vital fact or image with just minutes to deadline, while delving further into the website delivers a growing store of pertinent information about the company, its history, people and products.

Beyond this remains, of course, one key feature calculated to be of real benefit to every motoring writer: the MySEAT section.

As before, this area of the site holds key details about an individual journalist’s interactions with the SEAT press team such as:

  • Press vehicles borrowed
  • Events attended
  • Personnel interviewed

It allows the user to download a spec sheet for the specific press vehicle they’ve borrowed as well as grabbing pictures, stock video footage and a full model press pack in the same way.

There’s a simple ‘upload copy’ button, too, which allows journalists to send electronic cuttings or urls direct to the press office in the proverbial blink of an eye.

Mike Orford, Head of SEAT UK Press and PR, said: ‘The SEAT UK press website remains a key part of our service to journalists, and I hope the latest changes further improve their ability to get the SEAT facts, figures, pictures and video they need.

‘We’re keen to hear feedback, too, so if anyone wants to offer some criticism of the site – constructive, or otherwise – I hope they’ll e-mail me or one of my team.’

To register, simply visit www.seatpress.co.uk and fill in the requested fields. You will be granted instant access to the site and will also receive a welcome e-mail, complete with username and password reminder.
