STOKE-ON-TRENT, UNITED KINGDOM – May 27, 2010: Subaru has selected the new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 as the sole OE fitment on its new Cosworth Impreza STI CS400.

The 395bhp limited edition hatchback is the fruit of a partnership between Subaru in the UK and Cosworth, and makes use of the outstanding combination of on-road performance and environmental features of the Pilot Sport 3.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is a high performance asymmetric tyre which delivers high levels of grip on wet and dry roads. Cornering on wet roads has been improved and it stops three metres shorter than its predecessor*, the reigning benchmark sports tyre**. The new tyre also provides very precise steering for an enjoyable driving experience, and in addition, it also boasts outstanding fuel efficiency and extended mileage amongst its other qualities.

The car is fitted with 18-inch rims and 245/40 ZR 18 (97Y) Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres.

This latest addition to Michelin’s car tyre range is a good illustration of the Group’s strategy, which is never to sacrifice one performance feature for another. This means improving performance in several different areas simultaneously, a prerequisite to making any real progress. To achieve this balance, the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 has been built with unique, highly advanced technologies, such as the Green Power Compound, the Anti Surf System and Programmed Distortion tyre structure, all developed at Michelin’s Technology Center near Clermont Ferrand, France.

Intended for a wide variety of vehicle categories, the Pilot Sport 3 is suitable for sporty hatchbacks such as the Cosworth Impreza, large, powerful saloons and small sports cars, such as roadsters and coupes.
