BEIJING, April 23, 2010; Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Electronics (YFVE) will showcase an innovative cockpit electronics system at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2010) from April 23 to May 2. The Advanced Cockpit Electronics Interface (ACE-I) system integrates a wide range of vehicle controls in a user-friendly, single-screen display.

"ACE-I ensures consumers have a rich in-vehicle infotainment experience that is easy to use," said Matthew Cole, general manager of YFVE, Visteon Corporation's electronics affiliate in China. "By leveraging Visteon's capabilities in system integration and human-machine interaction, we created a highly flexible, intuitive system."

A primary benefit of the system is personalized driver interaction with numerous vehicle controls, including navigation, video, audio, climate and driver information. Drivers choose to interact with the vehicle by voice, buttons or touch-sensitive commands. Each option enables complete functionality while allowing the driver to minimize personal distraction.

ACE-I features a 7-inch full-color reconfigurable Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen with touch-sensitive functionality. This easy-to-read screen provides users with an intuitive, touch screen interface. Alternatively, users can control all functions through steering wheel-mounted buttons or through Mandarin Chinese voice commands. Additionally, the screen allows handwritten input for navigation, making it easier to enter destinations.

This scalable system also enables seamless connection with consumer electronics in the vehicle. Users can play music or video through their preferred personal devices including SD cards, USB keys, MP3 players or Apple's iPodŽ devices.

Yanfeng Visteon - a joint venture between Visteon Corporation and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation's automotive components group, Huayu Automotive Systems - will show this latest advancement on its Q-e concept car, which will be on display at the Huayu Automotive Systems' booth in Hall W5, W502 during Auto China 2010. An eco-friendly electric vehicle, Q-e's unique styling transforms the vehicle into a personal mobile space for 'green' urban users - creating harmony between the city landscape and personal lifestyle. Addressing the needs of young car owners in cities, Q-e is an extension of the home, where multimedia, gaming functions and the Internet can be enjoyed.
