Bridge PR: Good Garage Scheme Members ‘Benefit’ from New Money-Saving Ideas

LONDON--The nationwide Good Garage Scheme has launched a new drive to help members save money and operate more efficiently.

“Our feedback system is specifically designed to give motorists the peace of mind that their vehicles will be in safe hands when taken to one of our member garages for work to be carried out.”

It has launched a new Member Benefits website www.ggsbenefits.co.uk to ensure that its 2,800 plus strong membership is getting the most out of being part of the scheme, giving members access to benefits, forum dates, marketing campaigns and news 24 hours a day.

Members will need to log in to access pages giving details of exclusive member benefits and instructions on contacting various Good Garage Scheme member suppliers for the discounts available to them.

Current benefits enjoyed by Good Garage Scheme members include:

• Major marketing campaigns covering TV and radio advertising.

• Free graphic design service, including logos and literature.

• Free legal support.

• Discounted insurance.

• Discounted parts washer and waste disposal service.

Rachel Greasby, Good Garage Scheme Marketing Director, said: “Some members may not realise some of the fantastic benefits membership brings so the new site is aimed at keeping them fully informed.

“The insurance scheme, for example, has saved members an average of 22% per year in 2009 (over £1100 per member). But if new members aren’t aware of it, they could be missing out on tangible benefits that could help them save money and make their businesses flourish.

“It’s an important source of information for our members and adds even more value to being a member of the Good Garage Scheme.”

Launched by Forté over three years ago, the Good Garage Scheme operates as a self-regulatory body for independent workshops and MOT centres throughout the UK to ensure the best industry standards are maintained.

Its membership adheres to a strict Code of Conduct and offer an Industry Standard Service and operates a customer feedback system that highlights the areas of best practice and areas for improvement identified by motorists using member garages for work. A five-star rating system is produced for each member garage on the Good Garage Scheme website www.goodgaragescheme.com, based on the feedback forms, to help potential future customers find the best workshop in their area.

Nationally, the Good Garage Scheme receives around 12,000 customer feedback forms every month while member garages that fail to submit any feedbacks are investigated and potentially removed from the scheme.

Rachel Greasby added: “Our feedback system is specifically designed to give motorists the peace of mind that their vehicles will be in safe hands when taken to one of our member garages for work to be carried out.”
